Job Title: Senior IT Support Specialist
Location: Houston, TX with Travel to Facilities and Vessels

Overview
The Senior IT Support Specialist is responsible for delivering high-quality technical support, system maintenance, and operational reliability across both office locations and vessels. This role provides hands-on support for computers, networks, communication systems, and security platforms while ensuring stable and secure IT operations. The position requires strong troubleshooting skills, the ability to adapt to evolving technologies, and a commitment to maintaining continuous system uptime. This role is based primarily out of the Post Oak office in Houston, TX, with regular travel to remote sites as needed.
What You'll Do
Infrastructure & Network Support
* Maintain and support LAN, WAN, Internet, and intranet environments
* Identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks across IT systems and projects
* Recommend upgrades and improvements to enhance performance and reliability
* Ensure uninterrupted system availability in a 24x7x365 environment
Systems Administration
* Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain operating systems, servers, applications, and security tools
* Manage Active Directory, Azure AD, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, DNS, DHCP, and VMware environments
* Administer endpoint security platforms, backup and recovery procedures, and monitoring tools
* Support Microsoft Teams Rooms, VoIP systems, and audio/video conferencing setups
Endpoint & Device Management
* Support desktops, laptops, printers, smartphones, and mobile devices
* Manage software deployment, patching, updates, and asset inventory
* Administer Apple-focused mobile device management (MDM) systems
Security & Access Control
* Support access control and physical security systems
* Maintain confidentiality and integrity of company information
* Assist with compliance requirements including TWIC eligibility
Application & Operational Support
* Assist with development and maintenance of in-house applications
* Perform business-critical IT tasks supporting daily operations
* Create documentation, training materials, and user guides
* Train employees on hardware, software, and internal systems
Travel & On-Call Responsibilities
* Travel to facilities and vessels to support IT equipment and systems
* Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours/weekend support
Collaboration & Leadership
* Work closely with the Supervisor - Information Technology on ongoing tasks and projects
* Support teams with varying technical skill levels
* Perform additional duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
* 5-7 years of experience in an IT support or systems role
* Associate's degree in Computer Science or related field
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
* Deep knowledge of Windows operating systems, enterprise hardware, backup/recovery, and monitoring tools
* Experience with Microsoft 365 Administration, VMware, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Azure AD, and SharePoint
* Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server 2016+ and basic query writing
* Experience with Apple-based MDM platforms
* Experience supporting VoIP and audio/video conferencing systems
* Willingness to work after hours, weekends, and participate in on-call rotation
* Ability to travel locally and out of state, including air travel
* Ability to obtain a TWIC credential
* Strong written and verbal communication skills

* IT certifications (Microsoft, VMware, CompTIA, etc.)
* Leadership experience
* Microsoft 365 Administrator certifications
* Project management experience
